“Graybill's music reminds us that thinking deeply and having fun are not mutually exclusive categories. In one song, Graybill can make us smile, tap our feet, and make us ponder the universe, sometimes in a single verse! As a modern troubadour, Graybill's songs take us on journeys where we meet curious characters, lost loves, and future bar mates so that we come away with a feeling that we are all part of one big wide family destined to be together one day." -Stephen Lloyd Moffett

Often compared to Jack Johnson, G. Love, and Nick Drake, Graybill is the stage moniker of vocalist, songwriter, and guitarist Kevin Graybill. Though comparable to others, he’s developed his own unique sound and genre sometimes referred to as Coastal-Folk, or Ganja-Blues.

Although his passion for music and performing started in his late teens, he spent much of his 20s living in Seattle and exploring ways one might blur the lines between vocation and play.  This meandering “path less traveled” weaved through experiences in mushroom foraging, tech startups, eastern philosophy, World Beard Championships, bio-hacking, dog walking, Uber driving, improv theatre, and even 200 mile bike rides.  It wasn’t until his late 20s that his passion for music was rekindled along this path in the most unlikely of places.

It was at this point that Graybill started a "dialogue facilitation" business. As things evolved, he began performing some of his original songs at these dialogue workshops, and would use the lyrics as part of the conversations he would facilitate. This exercise opened the floodgates and songs began pouring out of him.

Moving to the central coast of California, he found the perfect place to allow his creativity to peak. Turning into a working musician, he started playing for tips at seafood shacks on the water, eventually building up to playing every stage in the area, over 150 shows a year.

2020 was set to be Graybill’s biggest year yet with a tour through the West coast and Montana booked. That’s when COVID hit. Instead of wallowing in disappointment, he redirected the ambition for touring into recording his debut album, High Tide/Low Tide. Recorded as two six-track EPs, together they strike a balance between High Tide’s sunny optimism and full-band arrangements and Low Tide’s more stripped down rainy introspection.

High Tide/Low Tide was self-released on April 16th, 2021, and went on to win Album of the Year on The Central Coast of California for the 2021 New Times Music Awards.

Graybill’s momentum continued into 2022 as he followed up a remix collaboration with electronic artist 9 Theory, with progress on his sophomore debut “The Path Less Traveled,” which includes the single “It’s Alright” featuring G. Love, which was released on Friday, March 18, 2022. Click here to stream.

Graybill has continued plugging away at his second album “The Path Less Traveled,” and it has been quite THE PATH LESS TRAVELED to get it finished! It shall hopefully be released by Spring 2024!! Stay tuned!

“It’s not every day you come across an artist who invites you in with a sound that is unassumingly familiar and comforting, and then gets you to stay with raw, heart-mending lyrics that capture a deep universal desire for hope and connection. Graybill is that artist and he has opened the door…walk on in!” -Barry Johnson
